300ml recently pressed clementine juice
200ml newly squeezed lemon juice
500g granulated sugar
For the Cocktail (makes 850ml, to serve 10)
400ml decent vodka

200ml citrus syrup (as made above)
A few cranberries, for garnish
Mandarin essential oil, as a final touch
Directions
To prepare the Cordial: Combine the listed items into a pan, bring to a simmer, agitating to dissolve. After that, take off the heat allowing it to cool entirely. Transfer into an sealable bottle, close it and store chilled, it will last for up to four weeks.
Preparing the Batch Mix: Combine every spirits and syrup into a large bottle, let it rest for an hour, then pass it through preferably using cheesecloth, so it's completely strained.
When ready to serve: Measure 85ml of your batch mix to a cocktail shaker packed with ice, and agitate gently for a minute until cold. Filter into an frosted cocktail glass or similar, garnish with the cranberries and finish by giving it a light spray of mandarin oil over the drink.
